Synergy for Smart Multi-Objective Optimisation
Acronym
SYNERGY
Type
research
Duration
2016 - 2019
Content
The overall goal of the SYNERGY project is to overcome the limitations of the current initial-stage research in multiobjective optimization at the Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI), Ljubljana, Slovenia, where efficiency measures have only been explored at a very small scale and with no collaboration with other partners. <br /> To that end, JSI initiates this project with two high-profile research institutions with complementary expertise, Université des sciences et technologies de Lille (USTL), France, and Cologne University of Applied Sciences (CUAS), Germany. While USTL is a leading partner in parallelisation on large-scale heterogeneous architectures, CUAS provides expertise in surrogate modelling and its deployment in optimisation problems.
Our role
The department was a coordinator of the project. Since the goal of the project was to improve JSI excellence, raise JSI staff profiles and disseminate the results to research community and industry, we were involved in all project tasks. At first we followed the training give by USTL and CUAS, then we improved networking by participating and organizing different international events with the project partners. The results of the research was disseminated to scientific community and different Slovene entities (faculties, industry). Finally by coordinating such project valuable experiences were obtained for future projects.
