Sequential fault diagnosis in system maintenance.

The paper presents the results of the study of impact of symptomatic
information to sequential fault diagnosis. Typical test sequencing algorithms
based on the concepts from information theory and heuristic AND/OR graph
search methods are considered. Estimation of optimal weights of statistic
data of faulty elements associated with given symptoms is discussed.
Empirical results are presented for the case in which the symptomatic
information is processed separately and in advance of the global failure
rate data.
